Me and my boyfriend have always had unprotected sex but haven't ever got pregnant, I haven't missed a period but when I come on it is usually really heavy for the first 3 days then really light but this time it was really light and spotting. Is it just me being paranoid? Please help!

I think I'm pregnant
Hi Rachel,
A lighter, shorter period can be a sign of pregnancy, so it would be best to take a pregnancy test if you haven’t done so already. You can get tests for free from your GPs or local contraceptive and sexual health clinic (you can find your nearest here fpa.org.uk/find-a-clinic )
Even though you have been having unprotected sex and not fallen pregnant with your current partner that doesn’t mean that it is not possible. Unless both you and your partner have been told by a medical practitioner that you are infertile, you shouldn’t assume that you can’t get pregnant - so if you don’t want to conceive then you do need to use a method of contraception. We have lots of information about the different methods on our website here and you can also talk to your GP or contraceptive clinic about your options too:

I hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any other questions.
Best wishes,
Katherine
