Hi all I am new here. To start I already have an appointment with my GP however i sometimes get these stools and not sure what’s the cause of this. Wondering if anyone as something similar to this and what it turned out to be for you. So sorry for the graphic image just hoping to get some peace of mind while I wait for my appointment with my GP. I am pretty worried that the cause is something bigger. My only symptoms are on off loose stools and sometimes only going a small amount. If anyone could give some feedback it’s appreciated.

Hi worried224

I am not a medic but I do have diverticultis this photo looks like this to me. Nothing sinister to worry about but you from must get a diagnosis from a medic.

Take care

Hi

If you go on to have a colonoscopy I would advise that you ask for sedation. I had this procedure done last October this was not new to me I had one four years ago for the same problem. I needed no sedation and was comfortable for the length of the procedure. Last October I went along and I declined sedation judging by my previous experience I didn't think I would need it, How wrong can one be. I was ok for about 10 minutes into the procedure when I started to experience discomfort then it really became painful. I asked the doctor to stop the procedure. He then told me that my diverticular disease was much worse than four years previous, and wished that I had agreed to sedation. To cut the story short I then went on to have a scan with contrast. The only good news that I had from this episode was nothing sinister, just diverticular disease. Also surgery is now not an option unless it becomes an emergency, Then Diet Diet Diet. I do hope that you get things sorted, it is a dreadful disease and not fully understood. Do you mind me asking which hospital you would be going too.

Best wishes
