I have had on-going pain due to several spinal fractures. I now have pain in the hip. The pain management team want me to have sacroiliac joint injection to help with pain in hip. However, I’m reluctant to have the injection as I had a very bad reaction to facet joint injections in the past that caused me to collapse causing further fractures. The relief from the injection is not permanent. So do I put myself through a procedure that is likely to be uncomfortable and painful to that only gives temporary relief and may not help. I feel that my mental well-being is at its lowest because of worrying about it. Also my husband has just started a six month intensive chemotherapy I will be his main carer during his treatment. I have mixed feelings about this procedure and I’m scared…..

Sacroiliac joint injection

I had a injection like this and for me it was more pain but I know someone else who had great relief. Sorry your going through so much atm
Sorry you are dealing with such a lot at the moment. Pain is debilitating my husband is in constant pain and must rattle with all the tablets he's on. Your husband having to have Chemotherapy on top of your problems must feel like the last straw. I had to have 6 doses of TAC chemo, which was bad enough. My husband had to work during the day so I was left to my own devices. I did get an ambulance which took me to my treatment. We got ready meals in for the days I was out of it and I did the housework etc on my good days before I had another dose. You will muddle through but you need to put yourself and your health needs first as well otherwise you will go downhill and won't be fit to look after anyone. Take care and look after yourself and do what you think is the right thing for you ATM.
