tooth extraction

I came off of alendronic acid over 7 years ago and now need a tooth extracted. Has anyone had this done that long after treatment and had any problems? My dentist is referring me to the hospital to have it extracted, but I am concerned it may be too risky.

I am currently taking AA and did have to have a tooth extraction recently. This was carried out by my dentist. They gave me antibiotics prior to extraction and kept a close eye on the healing. I was worried about it but it has healed fine with no problems.

I had a tooth extracted by my dentist shortly after finishing AA. It did take longer to heal but I didn't have any problems.

I was on Alendronic for three years during which Itime I had 2 teeth extracted with normal healing time and no problems. I came off AA for a year and am back on it now. I personally would have an extraction if I needed one. Wishing you well.

Just to add to the above, the second extraction was difficult as the tooth had snapped at the gum so I required stitches as he had to cut the gum slightly…. Even with that it all healed well and as expected. Hope this helps.
