Broken skull, from double seizure in 2018, equilibrium, balance, moving head difficulties, cannot walk uphill. Does anyone have similar?

Broke skull from double epileptic seizure in Jan. 2018, means so restricted in everyday movement. I am 68, retired, actually told in 2021🙄 "next seizure would probably be your last" but still here👌 would some sort of "head clamp" help, breakage is back to front skull, down right hand side of nose to top jaw. The numbness dizziness when getting up from sitting position, having to adjust for at least 10 seconds, plus walking uphill even for short period, then again adjust for a short time, cannot run of course. Found turmeric with black pepper does help a bit. Anybody else in similar position?

Sounds painful Adlon, and I'm a bit concerned about your movement; Have you seen your Doctor, and has he suggested anything to help? The Ataxia section might also have some ideas for you.

Orthopaedics was not my area of expertise during my Nursing training. I did Surgical, Medical, Children's and A&E. I'm sure there are people here who will know more than I do.

Hope you get some helpful answers.

Cheers, Midori

Thanks Midori always helpful, no I'm afraid I am under the "untreatable" flag now, not really very much they can do for me, recently tried counselling forms, found a real den of worms, at least six months for anything? I asked my GP [blank expression] everything over here, endless waiting lists [or even supposedly lost in post]. This post was more distant hopeful than anything else🙄 My sister at present trying to get me moved, but now in continual pain, needing at least 10 hours sleep, not a happy bunny🖐

Surprised with all that has affected me over my life time, with all my doctors and specialists, that Ataxia has not been mentioned, certainly a lot of ticks could explain a lot? A bit primitive over here in medical terms and care🙄

Sorry to hear that, here in Wales it's beyond a joke too. I have waited and tried for four and a half years to get an appointment. My GP surgery is the second biggest in Wales.

Since I moved to Wales I know of at least 3 other surgeries which have closed in Pembrokeshire alone. Beginning to think it's time for getting out the cauldron and brushing up on the incantations! Only kidding!

Cheers, Midori

Just been thinking🤫maybe if I had a holiday up in Rathlin Island, have lived in Northern Ireland all my life, my own preference, never liked the place, go there to Rathlin for a couple of weeks, then go down to QUB in Belfast, my alma mater, induced coma, make sure signed all the relevant documents, and let my cadaver be used for medical research, look up my medical cv, must be of some sort of medical use, it sounds very macabre, but I sincerely believe my body has past its use by date, I have lost interest in what I could or anything that is possible with my very limited "selection" of existence, at least something could be achieved by my body, new cure for something🤞

Sorry Midori not in a very happy mood at present, in the dumps at present, ignore that last reply, depression can have nasty currents to a persons way of thoughts!

I have a brother who lives in south Wales, he thoroughly agrees with you about state of NHS there🙄

I'm actually getting out today, first time in nearly a month, should lift the grey clouds of depression a bit👌

Maybe I should downsize somewhere out of UK? Sell up the house and go for a long holiday, or set up a "shop" for more "natural" remedies😵🤫😉 Actually a bit of good news for a change, I have Schwannomatosis or neurofibromatosis three, benign tumours grow on nerve canals underneath the skin, I had one on my left elbow for four years, before surgically removed, had to sleep on a large leather seat, as a bed to uncomfortable, I have two, this time one on my right elbow and right forearm, I learnt this from my own experience, no medical notes, to ask about, a black elasticated sleeve that covers both my elbow and forearm, acts like a second "skin", it started end of June when I 'fell', but this is such a relief, except for lifting heavy objects, I thought here we go again another four years🦾🖐👍🤗🤗

Hi Adlon57,

Thank you for sharing, we’re so sorry to hear what a difficult time you’ve been having, it sounds like you have been through such a lot with your health, and we know how draining that can feel. We don’t have osteoporosis information resources related to your question, but we did want to drop in to let you know that there is another charity you may have heard of called “Epilepsy Action” who might have more information for you. You can find out more information about their support, including their phone support on this website: epilepsy.org.uk/support-for...

Epilepsy Action also have a community here on Health Unlocked that might feel helpful to look into too. ☺️

Wishing you all the best,

Thanks ! believe me I am sure their ears are ringing have been in regular contact with "Epilepsy Action" for years, having had Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy for over 50 years, and a epilepsy neurologist for something near that time, their support meetings are rare near my area, but they are fully aware of my presence, my epilepsy is 'under control' my neurologist and myself both agreed that any change in epileptic medication would be dangerous. I am a survivor and terminally ill, NOTHING more can be done for me, I am getting worse, but am ALWAYS seeking some relief for the pain I am in, those small victories SOMETIMES can really make my day👌

Well noticed a small lump on the right side of my nose, an hour ago🙄 I broke my skull in Jan 2018, right side of my nose going up to left side of eye socket, over the top of my skull to base of skull. Unfortunately, been getting equilibrium trouble when rising up, affecting concentrating/focus right eye, tender front lobe of skull, the skull is now 'moving' thus "small lump". Saw GP last week, noticed distinct wearing of neck on right hand side, I've always slept on right hand side, can't sleep back, prolapsed discs, back operation, colourful medical history guess have to sleep left hand side, despite pectus carinatum/pigeon chest ["buggered rib cage structure" as nurse called it🙄🤭] Sleep well everyone🤞😴

Doh! ever feel a bit of an ejit, that "small lump" must be a boil or sumthing, as my sister observed, "Your nose is mostly cartliage, not bone, look at 'William' there [William is a six foot plastic skeleton, that hangs in my porch💀] "🙄🤭🤭OOPS!
