I’ve just started 4 days ago taking the chewable Natecal, I’m now feeling really sick, should I persevere or ask for something else?

It's the calcium in the supplement that can cause problems like constipation and nausea. You need the Vitamin D, but should be able to get your calcium from diet. I'd stop taking them and talk to your GP about a Vitamin D only prescription.

I’ve tried two calcium supplements from my GP, one as tablets and one that I chew, both made me feel bad so it was agreed that I would concentrate on increasing my dietary calcium. I take vitamin D3 separately and also vitamin K2-MK7 Natto.

I recently bought some calcium citrate to try again - it’s supposed to be easier on the gut - but I’ve realised that doesn’t do much for me either so I’ll stick with the dietary calcium.

Thank you I Think that’s what I’d prefer to do as it was horrible feeling sick constantly, and I’ve never had constipation so bad, absolutely horrendous!!! I’m trying to up the intake of yogurt, milk etc but I detest cheese!!!

If you look on the ROS website you will find a downloadable leaflet with a list of calcium and vitamin D containing foods.

Unlike you I like cheese but I don’t love milk and yoghurt so I tend to raise my intake with lots of little things from the list.
