Forsteo injections

Hi,
I had Forsteo for 2 years.
Whilst on it I had bone pain especially in my legs and hips, also back ache and muscle pain.
The worst thing for me was the Nausea which was continuous, I also felt extremely tired and in the last 6 months my husband would give me my injection because I would feel so tired and nauseated I just wanted to crawl into bed.
I stuck it out though and when the treatment ended so did the side effects.
Thanks for your reply. I think it’s best to stick it out and finish the treatment . Did your doctor prescribe anything for the pains as it’s really unbearable at times
Hi, I was told by the nurses to take over the counter pain relief.
Which did not really help, I did not see my gp this was because I was always told to get in touch with the hospital as it was their care I was under.
It was the nurses there who told me to take paracetomol, never much help with anything I ever phoned about.
I am of the opinion that we know more about these things than they do!!
What I would say is if the pain gets worse or is there all the time I would get checked out.
Is the pain just in your back or does it spread elsewhere?
Hi thanks for your reply. Yes I was told to take parcetemol too. Doesn’t really help at all. I also get pain on all my joints. I have now made an appointment with my rheumatologist to see what he says as I can’t imagine having to bear tooth this for another 21 months
Do you have any fractures?
Have you been on any of the other treatments for Osteoporosis?
When I look back I don't know how I managed to stick it out it wss hard.
One of the nurses actually told me many people can not continue with it.
Perhaps they will suggest a different treatment to try.
Hi luckily I don’t have any fractures . I was only taking calcium tabs before . I had been doing regular bone density scans and from there realized that I had osteoporosis. I tried two shots of Prolia but it was a nightmare so I decided to go for this. Hopefully I will improve. I also have arthritis so I think half of the pain I have is from that as I have a lot of stiffness
