This is my first time posting on this forum although I've followed it for a while, this is why, October 2013 breast cancer surgery followed by radiotherapy January 2014 ,(no chemo), bone scan at the time showed intermediate risk of fracture have another scan in 3-5 yrs, got referred by GP after 3 yrs, hospital didn't want to know, another GP appt last week as the 5 yrs are up, To my surprise she gave me my T scores from 2014, highest one being -2.4, I'm now waiting for the scan appt to arrive and quite concerned that being so close to osteoporosis 5 yrs ago it's now arrived and I've been walking around with it without realising, any advice for me will be gratefully received and appreciated thank you

I had same treatment as you, and an off-hand comment eventuall that I had developed OS. No treatment offered, but a friend told me to go to Italy. There they make you take exercise classes - so I have been doing these ever since. Nurses on ROS helpline can tell you more, or if you live in the Thames Valley come to the Wellness Day on April 12th and ask them aftercancers.com

So sorry to read your post. It is not the end of the world if you have osteoporosis. It was the treatment of Alendronic acid for the disease that caused me so much trouble. I walked on a fractured femur for 2 years in pain until an enlightened doctor spotted the connection. 1year later the 2nd femur went so another operation followed. Avoid AA at all costs is my advice. I am 85 so even if I had not got Osteoporosis I might not be as nimble as before. Keep positive , take all the help you can get and don’t let the ..... get you down.
