AA doesn't agree with my stomach either. I'm going to give risedronate a try. My risk factor is the same as yours but in my spine. I've also got a comprehensive exercise plan that I've built up over the past year and adapted my diet. I make my own kefir and take some every day. I've been prescribed calcium and vit D and take some other supplements including cod liver oil (just have to watch vit D and retinol content). Not sure if all of this will help but I certainly feel better and gradually having less pain in spine and muscles. I've had 3 fractures but not in spine and still relatively young for osteoporosis.
Ask your GP if you could try risendronate. I haven't tried the injections yet so no experience.
