I go to a Kinesis class once or twice a week. It is a rehabilation class at our local Leisure Centre supervised by a trained instructor. Kinesis uses weights with a pulley system so that you always raise and lower the weights in a slow controlled way. I believe this keeps my back muscles strong as well as arms, legs etc. I make sure that I never bend over with a curved back. Always straight, bending at the hips. I had a DEXA scan 2 years ago with a score of -2.7 in my spine . I am hoping this is helping alongside calcium supplements, good diet and regular walking. I take AA with no side effects.
Wow! Cool!!! Thanks!
Thanks Heron.
This is interesting, thank you. My hip score at my last DEXA scan had improved, probably due to walking with a Ramblers group but my spine was 9% worse so I'm now on AA weekly as well as calcium and vit d - all to counteract the side effects of Anastrozole hormone therapy for breast cancer. I hadn't been able to find spinal strength exercises so will try these.
Walking isn’t enough? And what about nordic walking?
