Hi everyone! I was wondering when you have the bone density test ,you have to lay with your legs flat on the table and there is no way I can straighten my leg. Will I be able to prop my knee up! ( I have ra in knee )

I expect if you inform the technician they will be able to adapt to your needs. The important thing is to make sure at future scans that you are placed in exactly the same position again as you were for the first one, so the comparison will be accurate when measuring changes. I can't remember with mine, but I think it likely there may be a support under the knees anyway to assist in accurate placement.

Thank You for the quick reply! I had the BDT a few years ago and don’t remember what they did!

They put a wedge under my leg(s) jarme.

Hi Jarme when I had my dexa scan they put a wedge under my legs. I think this is normal. I was on crutches at the time after breaking my hip and I found the scan ok

Me too. I think it is pretty standard practice in the UK anyway. :)

Hi. Yes, I had a wedge under my knees- I was on crutches following pelvic fracture and it was quite comfortable.
