Infusions and side effects

Is there anyone who has undergone the Avastin (immunology) infusions, who stopped them because of the side effects, but not at the instigation of the oncologists. It was their own decision. Did they experience serious consequences from interrupting the infusions? Also how did this impact on their treatment by the medical profession thereafter.

I just finished my 5th treatment. The worse side effects for me are high blood pressure, of which I have been put on medication for., a bad cough, which I also took meds for. Lost some of my taste and have a hoarse voice. Some digestive issues, upper and lower. Definitely fatigue. Some muscle weakness in my hands. But I am able to manage these enough to continue treatment. I did have a CT-scan for the cough that was negative. So I only missed 1 week of treatment . I am on Avastin and Tencentriq 1200 every three weeks. I get confused because they have so many different names. Hope this helps..

Thank you Iggy for responding to my questions. It has helped but it seems to me that there are almost as many side effects as there are patients! We saw our oncologist, who has been there from the beginning of Robin's treatment, and she said she would not arrange another infusion until the "psoriasis" like lesions had improved (they are also painful). He would then see a dermatologist and have another CT scan. She concurred with our hoped for outcome. But it does help to put out worries if only to clarify them in your own mind. The hoarse voice, cough and fatigue seem to be the major reactions. I am glad to hear you're back on course and can only wish you all the best.

it’s been about a month since my last post. After experiencing a very high BP I was put on meds for that. But then few weeks ago my BP shot up to 220/120 or so . I was taken by ambulance to medical center and treated.

Had appt with Dr the week after and they held my Avastin but gave me tecentriq. I am now on a BP regimen that I think will work🙏..

On another note, I have begun to experience more side effects from my liver cancer. This is very concerning to me. I am feeling very full all the time and have had 2 cases of low blood sugars. Anyone experiencing this ? Or anything else on your digestive system?
