Hi my name is Lourdes but, my name on here is Lucy1520 in honor of my dear friend and roommate of 16 years who was diagnosed with HCC in 2015 and just passed away three weeks ago (2020). I was her caregiver and was active in her journey. Together we cried, laughed and held on to hope. I decided to become a member of this community as a way of processing my own pain as a caregiver.

When Lucy was first diagnosed the doctors didn't give her much hope. They said that she wouldn't live past 6 months. She went on to live 4 1/2 years. She was a warrior and fought long and hard.

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed do not lose hope. Continue doing research and get other medical opinions. Remain steadfast and continue fighting strong. Prayer got us through the toughest moments.
