I’ve had hypertension for a little while now and have been on losartan and another medicine after that. I forgot what it was called. I’m severely disabled (fractured my neck in 4 different places) and suffer from a nasty case of peripheral neuropathy that comes in the forms of spasms all throughout the body. Moving my body around is dangerous in that the spasms can hit at any point in time making me fall thus causing even more problems. I can get up walk around the house in short periods, but that is at most what I can do. 10000 steps a day is woefully out of my range. I’m not even remotely at that level and I never will be. It’s a fact and I’ve accepted it. Is there anything I can do to lower my hbp aside from medicine that can or will help me?

Hello all I need some help

I’m so sorry to hear of your troubles.
I’m not remotely disabled like you but I am considerably older, so have the aches and pains that come with age,
If you search on utube for exercises for the elderly - I know you are not elderly - you will likely find some suitable chair-based ones.
Does your diet need tweaking? You will probably have heard of the Mediterranean diet - plenty of protein based on fish eggs nuts beans, fresh foods freshly prepared and so on. You need to be well hydrated and I don’t mean with sweet fizzy drinks, and to watch your salt intake.
I do hope you will find a suitable path.
Recent studies have confirmed that isometric exercises are the best for reducing high blood pressure. Alternatively have you considered a static pedal operated mechine
Hi BobI'm sorry to hear of your disability. Any exercise at all is beneficial to reducing your BP. Another option is to use a sauna, my GP recommended it to reduce BP and I can confirm it works. A ll the best.
