Lercandipine 20 mg awfull side effects

been on lercandipine 20 mg and ramipril 10 mg bp still b 180/94 been over a year not coming down sure meds causing low mood deppresion

the best way to reduce your blood pressure - I’m sure you know this already - is through diet and exercise. There is a lot of information on the website of Blood Pressure UK, the charity. If a combination of your medication along with a good diet and exercise (and no smoking) isn’t bringing your blood pressure down then it would be a good idea to talk to your doctor.

Or, if this is easier, have a telephone consultation with the pharmacist attached to your doctor’s group of surgeries (your receptionist can advise you). Whoever you speak to, have ready your height and weight and a series of recent blood pressure readings so that they can get a good picture of you.

I couldnt get on with 20 mg of lercanidipine . I can tollerate 10 but no more. I also take ramipril. Go back to your gp as there are many other meds to try until you find one that suits you . Best wishes

luckily for me mine 140/80 roughy give or take. 10mg Ramipril -,mainly vest healthy but struggle to lose weight & do exercise - I don’t smoke but enjoy a drink at the weekends & that’s where I struggle - good luck & as others say speak to gp or pharmacist at surgery ☺️

I agree with you. I think they contribute to low mood too. I have really bad side effects with a few of the meds prescribed and these are the only ones I can tolerate unfortunately. I'm looking at secondary high BP at the moment because I don't understand why I have this. I'm not overweight, excercise moderately and eat healthily. So why? Any way, good luck getting answers.
