BP Medication Journey!!

Good morning. I had a similar experience when I started taking BP med about 4/5 months ago. 1st, as always, was Amlopodine which caused flushing face and itchy legs, on it a week then the list and side effects goes on, and on and on!

I ended up in A&E on Lercanipidine caused horrendous indigestion thought I was having a heart attack! Tried diuretics they gave me anxiety. Losartan caused swelling of my face and lips.

I am now taking Lisinopril been on them for 2 months fingers crossed 🤞🏻 ok BP around 130/80 mornings lower later in day about 120/70 so that’s fine.

I do feel for you, my family thought I’d turned into a hypochondriac!! I had a VERY caring understanding GP who I talked to about any concerns and who was willing to persevere until we found something tolerable.

Best wishes it’s a journey but don’t put up with anxiety brought on by tablets, there’s enough in life without adding to it.

Hi. Thank you for posting. I am becoming more of a hypochondriac by the day..Have been on Atenolol for some years. Had dizziness at first but managed to ride through that and.managed ok. Amlodipine was added to the mix as my.bp started to creep up..My legs swelled and I.felt as though my body was full of poison. I don't do meds very well and have noted what you.say about pills and anxiety. I was put on Losartan a few weeks ago. Only a low dose.but.my anxiety went through the roof and I feel all shaky..Must talk to.GP. If only.I could get off the darned meds. Well done you. I must take leaf out of your book
