amlodipine
Every one’s chemistry responds differently to prescription drugs. In my case the Ritemed brand works best for me with the least side effects. Hardly notice anything. I only get occasional bouts of dizziness but thats about it for me. Hope you find the right brand for yourself.
the sandbox one works for me, have been on it for 9 months with no side effects.
I just get given what brand of Amlodipine the GPs pharmacy has in. I had been on 5mg for a long time until I had a BP blip in February and the dose was increased to 10mg. I now have to take another med too (Indapamide) as well as the Amlodipine. The increased dose seems to have led to very swollen legs and ankles but otherwise been OK. I hope you find something to suit. Take care.
I've been on this for over two years now and find whatever brand the pharmacist gives me works for me with no discernible differences.
For managing side effects there are two types of Amlodipine, Amlodipine maleate the original process and amlodipine bezalate a later cheaper process. I understand they now cost the same but there may be a difference in the side effects for different people. Im 78 and been on Amlodipine for many years before bezalate was introduced and noticed a difference. Back on Maleate there are still side effects but seem more manageable. Everyone is unique but I found it useful to know there was a difference.
Hi, It will say on the box maleate or bezalate . I use the same pharmacy each time and they have noted in their records only to issue maleate against my prescriptions. They use different suppliers but I always get maleate.
