Yes indeed. Follow the suggestions on the website of the charity blood pressure UK. Neither of the two food items you suggest may have a particular effect (e.g. “take two spoonfuls of cider vinegar and your systolic will go down by five”) it doesn’t really work like that, but they certainly would help to maintain a healthy gut and that always helps.

Lifestyle - exercise and diet - work wonders. If you’ve got a home monitor, take readings regularly at the same time of day after really relaxing for at least ten minutes. Take three slow breaths and press the button!

Keep us posted!

Thank you so very much!!!! I'm getting older and I really want to get my Bloodpressure down. Lately I've been scared for my life. My pressure is all over the place no matter how much I change my lifestyle it's still to high. I'm 43 years old and I want to be here to see my children get older. Thank you for the advice I will be sure to use it. God bless you😊😊😊😊😊

HI Reddfire. I know you are interested in the natural route but if your BP is all over the place and still too high no matter what you change, isn't it time you had a chat with your GP about it? The sooner you get your BP down, the sooner you can stop worrying about it which is definitely making it worse as it's stressing you out. Think about it and good luck. x

I have been up and down with my blood pressure 🥲I’ve been on how many different medications stuck in a cycle of not wanting to take them because of side effects .November i decided to take control of my weight I am 2 stone over weight .I’ve been eating more veg and trying to make healthier choices .Since November I’ve lost 10 pounds doesn’t sound a lot and bearing in mind we’ve had Xmas 😂.well my numbers have started to come down on my monitor at home 👍I don’t know if it’s just con incidence but I will take it 😜it’s making me feel in control so I will carry on healthy eating and trying to make healthier choices. It’s made me feel positive that it could be my weight that’s making the difference.I hope this helps ❤️❤️Ps garlic pills don’t work lol but I take them anyway 🤪

beetroot juice or eating a beetroot a day works if u can stand them, i find turmeric in warm milk twice a day also works but over a few weeks, beetroot is instant, i use to take a baby asprin a day that thins your blood down but dont take with turmeric as both blood thinners,

Good for you and keep up the good work. I've been eating garlic (even raw in salads) for well over forty years and I'm on BP meds so I agree with you. Mind you maybe it would be much higher if I hadn't been doing that. x

i use to eat raw garlic as well for years but started giving me heart burn

springcross in reply topeter999999999

Yes it has a tendency to do that sometimes with me too which is a shame as it is good for us.

im finding after now starting taking turmeric again i feel 100 percent better than i have all last year ,im still on 5mg amlod ipine but it seems to have taken all side effects away,i was on it for 30 years before and stopped taking it when doc put me on a concoction of meds, so i thought only been on 1 now id start again, imnow walking aprox 5 miles a day,to cold for bike, not done bp as that stresses me out but you seem to no when you are getting better,8 months ago could not leave the house due to feeling ill off meds, anxiety set in what a performance that was, now going to take half a 5mg once a week and full one 6 times every week increase the half till im all halves ,then cut down.if i new what was comming a year ago i would never have started bp drugs, do it naturally,

That would be great wouldn't it, no need fo BP meds. I like turmeric but it doesn't agree with me and I can't drink milk as it upsets my stomach too. I have what I call undiagnosed lactose (or some part of dairy) intolerance. Shame as I love milk, cream, cheese etc.

We do eat a lot of it during the growing season as we both love it. I did get into buying the juice a few years ago but it turned out to be quite expensive as I love it and couldn't stop drinking it. 😁

Well done Julie!

Most foods that produce nitric oxide will relax the blood vessels, raw garlic, beetroot juice.L-Arginine, L-Citrulline.Some swear by hibiscus tea these can give digestive issues if you have under lying problems in those areas.

My blood pressure went badly out of control for a time and i had the most severe headaches and double vision. The only thing that brought it back under control and removed the headache a vision problems for me... was Olive leaf extract.Everyone is different. These are quite safe to take alongside prescribed medications unless you are on blood thinners.Garlic thins blood too so tread carefully.

I hope you find a solution because all the suggestions above from other members work in most cases.Wish you success.Try not to worry, learn to let things go, keep walking, eat sensibly, sleep well.

Good info, thanks. I did try the hibiscus tea about four years ago but stopped as it did upset my stomach (I have issues there). I still have the tea bags (I bought a large box of them not realising about the stomach issues) so I use them as a final rinse on my hair sometimes.

I have tried organic beetroot juice. I tried it everyday for about 3 months but didn’t notice any change. I’ve never tried cider vinegar though.

I would be very interested in this I hate taking medication

Cider vinegar can be a bit harsh.

I often squeeze some lemon in to a glass of water which is just as effective so I am told.

Also I drink hibiscus tea, have linseed in the morning, take a multi vitamin, omega 3, magnesium, vit d, co enzyme Q10.

Beetroot juice I enjoy but it makes your stools very red which can be alarming!

But probably the most important thing is to aim for a healthy and mostly plant based diet and to cut down on salt and sugar. (Easier said than done I know!)

Try a few things and see what works for you. 🤞 Good luck!
