I’m a type 1 diabetic prescribed Candesartan only 4mg a day. My BP is usually in the 200’s but has now dropped and varies from 120/50 or lower but then fluctuates. If I so much as change my seating position it can shoot to 160/95 and stay elevated.
My blood sugars have now destabilised I take the BP meds at night as instructed, taking these for 2 months now, I have suffered from several hypo’s requiring assistance during the night since I started the meds which normally very rarely happens. Now my blood sugars are extremely elevated in the mornings can be 23 plus and I struggle to get them down. I have been diabetic for over 40 years so not new to sorting my meds out.
Right now my BP is 153/50, having been 121/63 earlier this afternoon..anyone any idea what is going on ?

Oh dear Junglegirl this does sound like one for the professionals! However, about your fluctuating BP. Do you rest for ten minutes before taking? Just before taking it, three calm deep breaths. NO TALKING!! At home I always ignore the first reading, then take an average of the next three on the assumption that they are similar to each other.
Don’t forget that your BP goes up and down anyway, depending on what you are doing.
Have you been through the website of Blood Pressure UK?
Thank you Happyrosie, I am relatively new to blood pressure and have tested way too much in the early days, scared myself silly. I think I do get anxious when the readings are too high and am conscious that I am my own worst enemy when doing the resting between readings.
Professionals tend to find me a little confusing, I don’t tend to fit into any of their boxes...lol
