Firstly I apologise for my naivety in asking this and secondly apologies if this has been asked a million times
Knowing my BP is starting to come under better control, taking a pill daily, walking a lot more and being more mindful of diet, if I manage to get my BP down to a consistent normal level, would that lower my risk of a severe case of Covid?
Or knowing my BP has been high I imagine for a while now, the damage has already been done.
I also suffer with Asthma so not in the best boat for all of this 😞
Thank you, saw their article but it was dated 16/3 a lot has happened since then. Will broaden search maybe
Asthma puts you into the high risk category alone. It is important to remember Covid 19 has no brains and can not preselect those of us who are at higher risk. So there is little need to panic and every reason to take precautions regardless of your risk status. Just remember that if you are unlucky enough to contract Covid 19 then that is when you really need to get help.
Covid spreads by oral spray that can spread up to 8 meters in some situations, which means you need to protect the face including the eyes, hands and never reuse a mask within 72 hours as this is how long Covid 19 can last on plastics and synthetics. On paper and cardboard it only lasts 24 hours. If you wear gloves, surgical type, then make sure to wash them before taking them off as you will transfer Covid 19 when you take them off to your hands. Take off the mask before washing the gloves also so no transfer can happen to yourself.
It is better to take the precautions than not as you don't know who could be carrying the disease until after the fact, and that is too late.
I didn't like wearing gloves and masks but in a Covid 19 environment you soon get used it, protection is far more important than looks or comfort.
Washing the hands thoroughly is better than hand sanitiser, and cheaper!
