I have found some interesting information on the BHF Website, I was already a member years before my condition presented and raised a few £'s, Ironically selling cakes!
After a couple of weeks taking Amlodipine I think that I must be a Codeine Phosphate Junky and that this is the cause of my Headaches, most mornings.
Please do not reply and tell me to see my doctor I am and I will but I have just bought a new batch. They are very effective for me apart from the side effects!

I was on amlodipine for many years and it worked to bring down pressure, Dr changed my med to Losartan and we are trying to get it down.. it is tough when we have to change, the Losartan is giving me headaches tho. Hope you start to feel better soon.
I had my appointment with the doctor yesterday and I'm now taking amlodipine for another two months because it generally seems to be working although my BP goes up and down like a yo-yo. I asked about alternative painkillers to treat the arthritis in my left knee and was told to take the maximum prescribed dose of paracetamol and ibuprofen on a regular basis and not codeine sulphate because all strong painkillers have the same side effect of foggy head in the morning!
