BP High but I take a pill and it drops very low.

My cardio said last week that my erratic BP readings were ok as they averaged out ok. She told me to keep off the BP meds (as I was getting hypotension), which I have for a few months now but as I've had 2 TIA's this year and a stroke but they can't say when, I'm a bit concerned about the days when my BP is high. When I was in her office it was 182 but she said it was white coat syndrome and she wouldn't listen. Anyway I was told to see my GP if I felt ill and BP high, which I did and she gave me 5mg amdropoline (spelling) to take. So this morning I wake up with bad headache, and I had very bad pain come & go just blow my left shoulder blade. I took a BP pill but two hours later it was at 180/120-104 at rest (I'm almost bed ridden) so I get told to go see out of hours doctor at hospital and there it was 175 over something and told me to take the pills for a week. Three hours later my BP is 112/70, I feel very ill.

Hypertension specialist told me that I'm not truly hypertensive but have peaks and because of that medication give me more than normal side effects and bring it down to low.
