Amlodipine not working

Hi, 58 yr old, fit active and a good weight. Diagnosed with HBP 5 nth ago and have been taking amlodipine 10 mg since. I have a home blood pressure monitor, which I assume is pretty accurate, however my readings are still quite high after initially they seemed to come down. Has anyone else experienced something similar ... back to the doctors methinks ?

I took Amlodipine for a while when my bp registered 188/90, however, it made me feel very ill so changed to Felodipine. Absolutely fine but bp always in 145-147/75 range.

I’m a cardiac nurse Hylda. They may need to increase your dose. I also find that my patients are oftentimes on a combination of anti hypertensive meds to control their BP. You’re probably aware that the new guidelines now for systolic BP is under 130 and under 80 for diastolic BP. Good luck. I hope you also have included exercise as well as dietary changes.

Great! I hope your doctor is a good pt. advocate. As you know we have to have a competent doc as well.
