Nasal cannulas

Does anyone else have problems with nasal cannulas? My provider supplies infants children's and adults nothing in between! As I have to wear it for 15 hours a day includes overnight, they fall out during the night or make a noise so can't sleep. Any ideas I would be very grateful for!

There may be only the three sizes but there are different styles. There are straight ends, curved ends and soft tips. See if you can try a selection. I had a problem with mine falling out overnight but manage better with the soft tips, which have the prongs slightly closer together, helping to keep them in my little nose. :)

I have the opposite problem I am very small only 4 10, small build with tiny features, they always have trouble getting blood from my ear lobes because they are so small. The cannulars are to big and wide for my nose but our supplier said they only cater for one size adult, the prongs freaquently pop out especially at night and my nostrils become painful and sore. I have been issued with curved tips and straight tips but not soft tips, maybe that will help keep them in at least. I had the same problem in hospital but they said they were unable to get some sent over from Peadiatrics ????

I don't know your oxygen provider? But I phoned and said I was having problems and they sent me an assortment to try as my nose too is small! You could try that? I'm going to ring again tomorrow to see about soft tips! Let's swap notes soon see how we both fare!! X Kate

I had a problem with them falling out at night so now I put my head through the loop made by the slider thingy, put it over my ears, pull that up so that it feels comfortable and the tube follows along behind me. My problem wasn't my nose but my ears are so flat to my head and I wear glasses the cannulas kept falling out. The things we have to put up with but atleast we are breathing. Glass half full, keep smiling.
