What is an aero chamber

I have developed a hoarse voice & after doing a bit of research the common denominater(that spelling doesn't look right) in a lot of cases seems to be serotide.

I have seen that some people have been told to take it with an aero chamber. What is an aero chamber and can you use it with serotide 500?

Thanks

hi

it is a spacer device to assist in using a mist inhaler, eg ventolin, seretide ,

not suitable for seretide accuhaler 500. which is breath activated.

Thanks all, I wondered how it would work with the serotide 500

I use the same spacer as elian for my steroid. A much higher % of the drug gets to your lungs using a spacer, so it's a good idea to use one anyway. Good thing too to rinse mouth and throat after using inhalers. Prescribed by gp.

I have a couple of these, but gety conflicting advice on how to look after them - all advice from healh professionals btw! One theory is that you should keep it 'primed', not wash it at all, the other person said to wash it regularly. Definitely a good way to take inhalers if you are wheezy, as you breathe normally, several times, rather than try to breath in to coincide with the pressure (if you see what I mean!)

I take my salbutamol 3 ways depending on where I am. Upstairs is the spacer with face mask; downstairs the one without mask; outside the ordinary one. This regime works OK most of the time, but with infection I mostly use face mask - find it so much more beneficial.
