lung transplant and fundoplication.
The ability to reply to this post has been turned off.
Hi Ange12,
I have not had a lung transplant, but I did have a Nissen Fundoplication last November.
This was to tighten the lower sphincter muscle of the oesophagus to relieve acid reflux.
The op went well, I stopped the Esomeprazole and Ranitidine tablets, it also helped reduce a lot of coughing bouts I was having and I can sleep a lot better now I can lay down, rather than sleeping almost upright on 6 or 7 pillows.
The only down side is that I have had to stop drinking fizzy drinks, beers and lagers as the gas cannot pass back up the wind pipe and can make you really uncomfortable, and makes you pass a lot of wind. Apart from that I have been a lot better, no heartburn attacks, no loss of or croaky voice, as I was losing my voice quite regularly.

Hi Tuck thanks for replying. I had mine done 23rd July this year and am still suffering some indigestion and am still not able to eat everything. I had mine done because the acid was going into my lungs and my breathing was getting worse. Thankfully the lungs are back to normal. I suppose I have to be patient lol. angie x
