Hi, my name is Marie and I work on the helpline as an advisor.

I have a background working in Social Care so I can offer advice on care packages, adaptations in your home and anything else you may need with regards to your personal care needs.

If you find that your condition is affecting you at home or you are struggling with your mobility and want to know what help you can get, please give me a call on 03000 030 555 and I will be happy to have a chat with you.

Thank you and take care.

Marie__ALUK profile image
Marie__ALUKPartnerBritish Lung Foundation in reply tophilforgot

Hello philforgot,

Sorry for the late reply, I was on long term sickness and have just returned to the office.

Have you asked your local council for any help recently?

Fudge57 profile image
Fudge57 in reply tophilforgot

I have social care and had my budget cut as I was told they no longer pay for domestic help, but other councils may be different

Thanks for being there MarieBLF. and the support if needed. I am fine at present. Waiting on a visit today from Respiratory team. Think i will need another Spiro test. Because my breathlessness has gone since my pacemaker op. Housing wise we are all on the flat which makes things easier. Have a good weekend BRIAN

Hi Marie. I've just joined. I was diagnosed with arthritis in 2009, but since then a number of other symptoms have developed. These include pins and needles in my extremities along with breathlessness and a tightness in my chest.

There are so many things going on that it's difficult to see them all as independent of one another. The sensible conclusion is that they're connected.

I'm awaiting scans, tests and other investigations, hopefully to uncover the truth, but I wanted to message you anyway.

I did and an email to you guys earlier, so you may have come across my name already.

I don't know if you are able to help, but I'm hopeful.

Thanks for reading.

Hello Boone09,

Thank you for your message and welcome to our community!

I am sorry to hear you are having a bad time at the moment and you are doing the right thing by reporting it to medical professionals as they can refer you for tests.

In the meantime if your symptoms get worse or change and you can't get through to your GP, you can call 111 for advice.

Hopefully we will reply to your email soon but if you need to speak to us you can call the helpline on 03000 030 555 if you need to.

Thank you and take care,

Marie

Hi, Marie. Hope this message finds you in the good health and your festive break goes well. I have been on helpline with your colleague named Debbie. She is lovely and has put me on the waiting list for a call back from clinical team. So, it is just a waiting game for me at the moment. However, I do need an assessment on equipment to be fitted at home etc. When is it at the earliest date you are available then? Massive heart-felt thanks in advance.
