Ive just been put on a physiotherapy course and pulmonary rehabilitation, what’s physiotherapy involve? Has anyone been on theses courses?

I loved pulmonary rehab. It really helped kick start my return to fitness from previous suicide by sofa. The PR I attended was 2 sessions a week for 6 weeks, with exercises tailored to my abilities each session and talks about lung disease and how to help yourself one session a week. The course started and finished with a 6 minute walk test which helped the physios assess my fitness before and after attending. Dramatic improvement.

I’m part way through my pulmonary rehab course. They let me start it even though I was having a two week break in the middle of it as my daughter was getting married. I’m loving it too - it’s not at all stressful because everyone is lovely and wants you to do well. No special clothes just something loose and comfortable.

The only physio that I had was a great session with a physiotherapist in hospital when he taught me the active cycle of breathing to help me cough out the deep gunk in my lungs. I am very new to it and it helps at the moment as I have a chest infection.
