They keep telling us to go to the Chemist for small problems. They are there to take up the time wasters and cold and flu people. If people did that it would take a lot of the Dr's appointments so they had more time for sick people. ???

in reply to syntax

Hi Syntex my gp’s have been joke really especially as not been surported when comes to dwp

But looks like it’s going to come round bite em on the asses AS have no means to get to doctors SO going to have to come see me GUESS like tribunal said wanted.

Hi Jeff sorry you did not win your appeal. However your point has been noted so to speak. The doctor appointment system is getting worse. I've just received another appointment for Rhuematology, which I know nothing about, it is 6 months since I last saw them. But I had to rearrange this appointment as it clashes with a group I am involved with. Anyway hope you get an appointment soon so you do not end up in hospital. You need your health & strength to look after your parents. Best Wishes, take care and keep warm.

in reply to katieoxo60

Hi Katie am past caring about doctors MAINLY have to as been stuffing panic attack’s at appointment’s

Guess to many hospital appointments OR it’s walk getting to them that nackers me up.

I feel like that these days too, especially when they say no cure constantly. All I am asking for is management of my symptoms, but apparently we can't have that even these days. Hate to think what the future holds for us. I just got a bill for three pence from the local council for my rates, how much is that costing to collect due to miscalculation (thats the otherside of the coin of course) this could have merely been collected on this years bill but that would confuse the computer as its from last years financial year. Enjoy your day.

in reply to katieoxo60

Hi katieoxo60. It's amazing that the Council can reach such high levels of incompetency!!!!!!!!!!! As if the computers couldn't be programmed to throw up a flag to its users to (maybe) telephone the rate-payers, or - as you say - merely add anything between 1p - £5 to the next bill (more sensible)? Surely it can't be THAT difficult.....? 🙄😠

I totally agree with you, I have an on-line account from which they can direct debit me but also email me. I thought small sums like that were usually written off as not cost effective to collect. I do not calculate my bill or pay it manually, its all done by computer. There is probably some law that means the arrears have to be notified by letter, but on the other hand I should not be in arrears as they collect what they calculate. As I said waste of rate payers money. If I was a council tenant that three p could stop me moving home for 18 weeks.

Totally rotten news JAS about the dreaded PIP appeal but I'd imagine you'll be taking it to Tribunal stage? I had to and ,yes, it is hard work and to keep on repeating things over and over again, but its another stab at getting what you are entitled to. I read somewhere that over 80% of people that go to Tribunal stage, win! Nothing ventured...nothing gained eh?

Loving your money hobby. My sons friend does a similar thing so I will see if he has any "pointers" for you as he's been a coin fanatic for Year's and years. Love to your Dad and keep your chin up JAS!!

in reply to SquirrelsHolt

Hi SquirrelHolt have done with tribunal now ... don’t really have energy

Just trying to survive given isssues seems more pressing issue these days.

Don’t really think have time to spare given ill and collecting lol issues with my dad.

Morning Jeff I’m sorry you were turned down on pip I had to fight for over s year just kept appealing every time I got another letter saying NO I sent them another letter and a phone call, it’s all about constantly repeating yourself in letters and on phone I kept a diary of all letters received and send , and notes of what was said on phone. Please don’t give into them this is what they hope for. It’s very hard not to give up especially when your unwell, but you know what you deserve. Well after a year of everything they decided to send some one to my home. The lady was nice and I have to say helpful she asked a question then told us what to say eg one thing she asked was can you get up and shower/bath by yourself.... I take it you can’t you would need help to get to toilet then help to wash dry and put on fresh pjs. I said at that time that amount of help wasn’t necessary but she insisted due to body weakness and pain it was. The lady done this with a few questions. I wish everyone got the same guidance! She said before she left she would recommend my hubby to be accepted on pip and in her thoughts it never should have gone that far 2 weeks later got letter saying accepted for full mobility and care for 3years . I was so relieved .that was a long drawn out fight I could have done with out but new in my heart my hubby was entitled to it, he’d had 3 heart attack’s in a matter of months and they didn’t expect him to live but pip wanted him to go to their office for an assessment by a nurse 😡. I wish you the very best and hope you get put on the full amount for a long time . Enjoy your new hobby, my son collects unusual 50pences it’s good to see them. Take care I wish you a good weekend 🌹🌹

JAS I'm wondering if CAB or another agency could help you with all the form filling for Tribunal. Seems a shame to not give a final "go" especially when you are so unwell. Only a thought?

You're right.....it's hard enough to just survive some days,so you can only do so much on your own.

Commiserations Jeff. If it's any consolation, I only received the Standard Rate after appeal, despite having been on Higher Rate for over 20 years with: Spina Bifida (mild), permanent spinal nerve damage from having to wait 13 years for surgery to a slipped disc causing chronic Sciatica, Arthritis (one hip replaced, the other needs doing), and now Lymphoedema! I think it's all a case of knowing key words to put on your forms, but pain isn't one of them (you can live with pain, but it won't stop you working)!!

It seems that you need to fill in the form to include how you are on your WORST days? If you do that (even if people are lying!) you can get the Higher Rate, but for us mortals who don't know the tricks, we're cast aside? My appeal drained me, and that's why I haven't re-appealed...

Good luck with searching for the illusive mis-minted coin? I'll just have to continue with the lottery....? 🤔🙏
