the last year I have been having pains like a big bruise when I breath or cough or pick up something heavy, it’s the at the bottom middle of my rib cage.. it started when I had some kind of horrible experience, I couldn’t breath properly had to take little puff breaths whilst sweating so bad and bent over as it was my only comfort position wise I had shooting pains up the left side of my neck from my shoulder it lasted about 20mins then went, but ever since that pain has been there, I still have these attack things but not as bad as that 1st one maybe a couple a month.. Iv been to the doctors many times the keep pushing anxiety tablets which I refused, but now Iv got a chest X-ray booked.. I’m really scared..

Please don't get fobbed off, ask to have an ECG as well just to be on the safe side. I had pains like that, unfortunately I for me mine was my heart. Please don't panic but it's better to er on the side of caution. Please let me know how you get on, I'm sure you will be fine. Take care.🙂 Bernadette xx
There could be lots of things it could be, but I suspect anxiety is not it. A chest X-ray will only show infection or fluid and if you had that you'd probably be coughing I'd imagine.
I agree push for an ECG and blood pressure check too.
Is it in the middl of the back? Is it bit like a burning pain?
I'm just speculating but I have acid reflux and I get middle back pain, and sometimes ache in my left side like heartburn but it goes to my shoulder too.
Try not to worry too much, I'm sure it's something that can be dealt him with.
I Agree with your other replies. It could be numerous things. But I would insist on an ECG as well as the chest x-ray. Then at least you can rule out your heart and lungs. To save you worrying. They are too quick these days to put everything down to anxiety. Keep in touch and let us know how you get along. Pat xxx
I've had exactly the same as you have and am going to see the DR today. I have got supra.. tendonitis and my back pain started after having physiotherapy for the shoulder, last October. It is very painful in the neck and the central area of the back on the left hand side. I asked my lung consultant about it, as it gets a lot worse in the evening and when I lift things, but he said it was nothing to do with my lungs. I'm not so sure, as he was desperate to discharge me.
I'll let you know if the Dr enlightens me, but I have my doubts.
