5 month Cough

Hey guys, I've had this terrible cough for about five months now. It doesn't happen when Im sleeping but during the day I'll often cough up phlegm or dry heave from the cough. I went and saw my GP and they sent me for breathing tests and a chest X-Ray. Nothing showed up and my breathing was normal. I also have a slightly stuffy nose all the time which made me think it was a post nasal drip but after trying nasonex and saline solutions nothing really helped. I was wondering if anyone had some insight on what I should do, or if anyones also had this problem. Phlegm is a very light shade of yellow.

Hi one of my sisters had this sort of dry cough for years and experimented with dairy food in case this was causing it. She cut out all dairy foods then reintroduced them one at a time. She found out she was intolerant to cows milk and ice cream. She stays off those now and her cough has completely gone.

Not saying this is causing yours but it could be worth doing. x

Good to know, thanks! I’m going to try cutting a couple other things out first and then if not dairy will be next.

One thing which might help in the meantime is to drink more water. x

If you are on BP medication it could be that.
