Serves me right for boasting!

The other day I was boasting that I've been infection free since early Feb. Well, I've got my come uppance as am back on the antibiotics and steroids again. Bah! I asked the GP if I could have Cefalexin again as that's what seemed to do such a good job of clearing it last time. He said they are not allowed to prescribe it really as it knocks out all the good stuff from your system. I was allowed it last time to clear a urine infection and chest infection I had at the same time. Shame! I would have liked another course of it, but understand why not.

Anyway, I'm not too bad - just coughing and wheezing. I can still get about and do what I need to do so don't feel sorry for me. I just had to post another bit of evidence to support Sod's Law. Haha!

I like a positive message like this one Moy. Sod's Law is reliable as you say. I hope the antibotics do their job properly for you. x

Thank you! xx

Your GP is talking through his hat! All antibiotics knock out the good stuff, it’s a fact of science. Keflex (cephalexin under another name) is one of the most useful broad spectrum antibiotics in chest infections. It fights many bugs succesfully and has even been known to combat pseudomonas. Some bronch patients take it long term when azithromycin ( a more modern drug) stops working. If whatever he has given you doesn’t do the job go back and insist.

That's interesting! Stuff I didn't know. You've got to watch these GPs all the time, haven't you? Thanks for your reply. xx

Ah no! I was saying I hadn't had an infection for a month or two as well so I hope I don't have to eat my words as well! Feel better soon x

Thanks for your reply. I hope you stay well - can't have poor old Sod working on us both at the same time, can we? xx

Could be - or might it be financial? The other thing is that the local trust may have blacklisted it for some reason. I'll probably never know the real reason, although my GP does seem pretty trustworthy so I think he believed what he was saying. Keep well! xx
