Ticklish throat
Hi aepacs, I have consistently had a tickly cough in my throat for some years now. It has been suggested it is linked to post nasal drip, which would sound a good theory as that would mean that you have something continually irritating your throat causing it to make you cough, also I have bronchiectasis which might be the cause (but do not have any sputum/phlegm) the docs haven't been able to confirm which it actually is that causes my cough/tickle but hopefully they will be able to yours.. You must see a doc just to be on the safe side ..Igood luck
I have a ticklish throat from time to time even though I do Active Cycle of Breathing Technique every night to aid the coughing up of phlegm that I have in my lungs. When I get a tickle I suck a Fisherman's Friend lozenge (buy from the chemist or supermarket) which takes away the tickle. I think it helps because the FF contain eucalyptus and menthol. I don't go anywhere without a packet!
It could be due to something in the air, i.e air fresheners, aromatic candles or as I found out recently fabric softener on clothes drying on the radiator. My latest is pollen, so I have started taking antihistemine tablets. Drink plenty and keep your throat "well oiled". Take your inhaler if you feel it starting.
