Nebuliser with a cold?

I sometimes use a nebuliser with saline, I have a cold at the moment so is it a good idea to keep breathing in moist cold air from the nebuliser? Thanks for any advise. I have severe emphysema.

I can’t see any harm..It could help with drainage do that the cold doesn’t get down your chest..ask the helpline tomorrow to be sure..

The body is very good at warming cold air as we breath in especially through the nose. So any air entering the lungs will be at body temp. I think advise from the help line or your gp as to weather to carry on with a saline neb is best. Hope you are soon over your cold

I tend to nebulise saline more whenI have a cold. I have bronchiectasis though so you may react differently.

I am unable to use Saline in my nebulizer as this actually reduces my ability to breathe so I use a salbutamol solution which works fine for me but check with your Doc or respiratory team.

Thank you all for the replies, I don't feel up to the interrogation and verbal wrestling with the GPs receptionist, so I think I will stay off the neb and carry on with the rescue pack 🤣
