Hi Everyone.

Does anyone have multiple allergies?

Does anyone know how we can ease them, no cure I know.

I've been advised to get an Air purefier in the room where my little dog and parakeet are, I cannot live without my pets they are everything to me. ☺

My, you're brave to have a parakeet with your allergies!

I suggest you have a look on the Amazon website and read the reviews for the ones you like the look of. The reviews can be very useful. Good luck, P

PS a lot of us dust with a damp cloth, rinse and rinse out often.

Doing most things right, but still suffer, like we all do very distressing sometimes, I have got a lot worse as I have got older, more allergies have developed.

Think I may try tablets and a air purefier.

Thanks for your kind reply.

One of my adult daughters has multiple allergies, the other two have just a few triggers.

, I bought my daughter an air cleaner, but I don't know if it makes a difference, but we will try anything. Damp dusting, and a high filter vacuum...I have one with bags otherwise dust gets everywhere when emptying.

Have you asked your GP, nurse or pharmacist for advice. Antihistamines help my daughters and you can buy a product to use just inside your nose....I don't know whether that works by trapping allergens.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm doing all them things, may try the tablets.

Wish they would find a cure, such a distressing thing.

Hi Janlyn, so sorry you have multiple allergies. I too have been to quote the doctor "Allergic to the 21/22nd century". I seem to have allergies to everything. I assume you know all the usual methods to control allergies in the home, if not ask me and I shall list them. Allergies outside the home are a more difficult to cope with. Shutting windows around 4pm in the afternoon and keeping those pollens outside is a good tip, if you go out at night in the car, don't open the windows, pollen falls to earth during the evening and is worse at 10pm. Sounds miserable doesn't it, but you do get used to taking care of yourself. If you are really suffering and come home during the pollen falling time in the evening it is a good idea to shower and wash your hair before bed, this will help you sleep free from pollen. Sorry this sounds like a lecture, but it has taken me fifty years to come to grips with my allergies and if I can help you feel better, even a little, it will be worth doing. Take care Maximonkey

Thank you for your advice, I was wondering if them Air purifiers are any good.

You would think in this century they would now have a cure for Allergies.

Hi Janlyn, I do not rate these air purifiers myself, I prefer to do it naturally with plants. My home looks pretty too as I cannot have flowers in the house, plants are lovely to have around. I don't think they will ever find a cure for allergies, they are so varied and our planet is so polluted. What one person finds acceptable another cannot tolerate. I feel dreadful that I have passed this susceptibility to allergies onto my grandchildren. They have all to a greater or smaller extent inherited my faulty gene. Take care, Maximonkey

Yes I agree, you would think in this era something could be done.

I'm not one for plants around the house, just have two spider plants.

I think I will just carry on as I'm doing if I have an allergic reaction I will just as usual deal with it.

I also suffer with eczema but that's gone at the moment.

Hi Janlyn, your spider plants will keep the room they are in oxygenated but will not help with allergies. The best thing is to wet dust and keep things as clean as possible. If you have pets that's ok, just be a little more houseproud than usual and you are doing all you can. Don't shake anything either, gently does it. Good luck and take care. Maximonnkey

I am house proud, nothing works, just have to live with it, just I'm getting worse.

I take an antihistamine which also helps me sleep! I have an air purifier with a hepa filter (for the bedroom in summer), vacuum with the same and bag. Also damp dust, everything fragrance free, and finally when in the car often use the internal air switch to keep out the fumes.

Hopefully you will get some relief X

Do you think the air purifier works?

I want one to put in my living kitchen where my little dog is, help take out the dander etc.

Allergies are different for everyone, could be anything. Air purifiers and the likes I found little use and a lot of trouble cleaning. Keep a cool dust free env. You have to find out the causes, or go on some sort of steriod meds, inhalers, tabs can do damage long term use. I grew up around horses, no probs, now I can't go near them because of a developed allergy...so sometimes you can overcome it with exposure. Curicum is suppose to help inflammations of all sorts, as a natural supplement. Keep your imune system tuned up. x

I have developed a multitude of allergies over past few years, l use Antihistamines every day of the year but every couple of years l have to swap to a different one as they seem to stop working after a while, l have cats and dogs, seems to be only the dogs dander that really gets me so they live in another bedroom but are walked everyday and let out every 2 hours in garden as l can cope with them out there ,they can stay in room with me for a short period of about half hour.I use an air purifier occasionally and keep mouth covered with scarf or similar when it's cold.
