Yer life can work in funny ways sometimes. My doctor called me to his office and told me I had to go right now for a C.T. scan this was 6pm in the evening so I knew I had a problem and felt just like you do now. But my life goes on and so will you. It just takes time and Talking to others will help in a big way.

You will find lots of friends here who will help, advise and support you if you let them. Just have a chat and tell us a little more about yourself.

Think I've said all of what has happened in my first message.

Hi you have posted in here about your lung nodules and received lots of reassurance. Your doctors have also given you this from what you have said. You do not have cancer - you have lung nodules which can possibly (but very unlikely to) turn into cancer which is why they are being watched carefully and you have another scan booked in March next year.

I think the question you need to ask yourself is why you clearly think you have got cancer when all the evidence is against it? Do you think you are suffering from depression and/or health anxiety? You are very young yet and you have your whole life ahead of you. No one knows what is going to happen in the future but yours looks bright if you will only let it.

I was sorry to hear of your present condition but reading between the lines your main problem seems to be what most of us who use this column have experienced at one time or another - i.e. hopelessnes..

It takes a lot of effort to shake it off but YOU CAN..

But you must be brave enough to ask for help.

Bill, I only have COPD (and a few other issues) but I couldn't shake off the mental health issues - I spoke with the GP who agreed "Talking Therapy" which helped a lot.

Maybe rockstar, this is an option?

Best wishes whatever happens

Keep coming back here, Rockstar, read other people's posts, learn what they are doing to help themselves have as good a life as possible in the circumstances they find themselves, and try some of these things yourself if you can. Keep asking questions, and try to trust our answers - many of us have walked the path you're walking at the moment, and we know from experience that there is a way through it, even if you can't see it, as long as you take one step forward at a time through the present darkness. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello Rock. You have plenty of life left. Pain can be controlled. Maybe the wrong medication for you. Have you seen the nurse who deal with pain control? he or she can help. Ask your g.p. to recommend you to her/him. it is worth the effort believe me. there are many on this site who would be only too willing to help you. do not give up. You maybe able to help one of us even. cheers.

So sorry that you are suffering like that. Please see a second or a third gp or specialist and get different opinions and perhaps different treatment options.

I'm no expert but seems your painkillers aren't helping. I agree with spooks above re pain control. I also agree with Lindy-loo about second opinion. Ask your GP for a referral to lung consultant. Keep fighting. You have along life ahead of you which is waiting to be lived. All best wishes and good luck.

Hi. Hope you feel better. Its hard when you find out stuff wrong with you. I really like this site and people are so helpful and therapeutic. Someone is always going through health related issues involving the lungs and how they cope. Read and write, stay in touch. I feel very down at times as i dont think there's a cure for mine, its nodules in lungs called Langerhan cell or pulmonary langerhan cell disease. I felt so down in dumps, still do at times but I tell myself I still have life to fullfill and lil things that I pray for,it can't hurt. Get different doctor till you feel comfortable with him or her,and get help you need. You are in stages of getting hit with alot,we are here for you. Take care,Lin
