Hi i am paul and live in west yorkshire and suffer with COPD mid range.

I was a member on here a short time ago but i thought i could go it alone but thats a mistake.

I was diagnosed with copd 2 years ago but i never really knew what it was until i started Pul/ rehab early this year, i came away wiser and slightly better with the 6 mins walking test.

I also suffer with acute anxciety and depression so the 3 plus high blood pressure are almost unberable at times.

I am 61-2ish married and so unhappy due to my copd as it effects my married situation.

I have started having pains in my chest and have an appointment in the morning with my GP.

I look forward to meeting you, x

paul.

Welcome back. I am sorry that life is so hard for you, with multiple problems. It does sound as if PR has been helpful. Please tell your GP how much you struggle. The depression and anxiety can be tackled? This a brilliant group of people, a lot of whom suffer in ways that are similar to yours.

All the best and keep us informed about how things go.

Hi Paul and welcome back - good to see you posting. I feel the majority of folks with a chronic illness experience anxiety and depression to one degree or another. I hope things improve for you on all fronts.

Love from a fellow West Yorkshire lass.

Hi Paul and welcome back. That anxiety and depression is more than enough to cope with. It also makes us feel worse when it is at it's peak.

You sound so like myself 18 months into diagnosis - rock bottom. I had to go through hell on earth until they found the right medication to get the attacks under control.

Now your back, you can draw strength from the good people of the forum. I couldn't go it alone either and found this site in desperate need of some TLC and I got it. xx

Hello Paul, it's nice to meet you.

It's really hard trying to deal with multiple problems. You don't know where to start and each one makes the others worse.

It's good that you're seeing your GP tomorrow. Maybe he could do something about getting your blood pressure controlled if it's still up?

When you were at Rehab did you have a talk on anxiety and depression? It's very common in people who are trying to deal with chronic conditions and most areas now have 'talking' therapies like CBT or counseling. In this area we can self-refer. If you can't do that you could ask your GP to refer you.

You're not on your own, Paul, and there's always someone around to listen and have a chat.

Good luck tomorrow,

Sue x

Hi Paul. Nice to meet you. We Yorkshire folk are well known for our plain speaking, so make sure that you let your doctor know exactly how you're feeling. There are things available to help........I've just had my first appointment with a counsellor to help with the anxiety and depression, and I think it's going to help a lot.

Good luck with the appointment, and let us know how you get on.

Take care.
