Something's up with my lungs

Hi there

For the past week I've had what I can describe as bruised lungs painful to breath at times.

But the discomfort in just moving, leaning on or lying on my back is annoying.

So I'd just like to know what this may be and the steps in getting better.

Thanks

Hi Benjimen. Maybe you've just strained a muscle? Do you have a diagnosed lung condition? If it's bothering you I think you need to see your gp.

Firstly Thank you for your reply.

I have no conditions at all.it started When I woke up one morning there was no bruising pain just discomfort in my breathing and my ribs around my lungs felt like they had been pushed out, "for the want of a better word". so each morning I would stretch and try crack my back which would relieve the pain before heading to work. But now the bruising feeling is there it's made it harder or more painful to crack my back. I have been avoiding the GP because it'll cost me an arm and a leg, and because I'm not in my own country I won't be eligible for any health assistance, other than Medi care which is near impossible to get because of the new laws. I know that if I dont seek help it could cost me more than just an arm and a leg so it'll be a last option for me to see a GP.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR INPUT.

Hi Benjamin if you have a chest infection could be pleurisy or just pain from coughing. Worth getting checked out. Take care jan x

Best course of action would be to see your GP. If you have a chest infection, pleurisy or a pulled muscle then you can get treatment.

You don't say if you have a chest condition. If you do, the sooner you get abs, if you need them, the better.

Hope you feel better soon 🌻

Hi, I understand your predicament regarding avoiding the GP. Just wanted to add my concern. Pleurisy is usually in one area and is excruciating. For me it wS exactly like when I broke some ribs.

If the pain is all over and around your lungs then that's worrying.

Are you able to ring the BLF helpline from where you are. It's 03000030555, UK office hours. The have some experts available for advice. Or you could email them?

Don't for get there are other bits n Bob's in your chest. Heart for one!

Good luck

Hi Andy

I'm currently living in Perth WA.

If you have any ideas regarding doctors and costs that'll be a great help.

Other than that I've been getting by ok financially until recently, you know when you decide to put money into things and you prep for living on a tight budget, life throws you a bit of a curve ball lol.

But other than that I believe I can manage mate thank you for your concern.

Hi Ben...never been to Preth..but I have been to a few other parts of Australia. .Sidney. .Melbourne. ..and stayed on the gold coast for a while.

I also have family and friends there.....

They have very good government hospitals and free medicine if you are unemployed. ...it was ten years ago since I was there so I don't know if things have changed. ....

Sorry I can't help you I don't anybody...in Perth.

Andy.

It could be a sign of a infection so may be wise to get it checked out just in case.

Hi, I have Emphysema and get the same type of pain, often. Nine times out of ten it turns out to be, .........wait for it.............WIND. My ribs and lungs seem to ache for days at a time. Then suddenly what feels like a large growth will begin to move and minutes later everything is fine again.

I know this sounds daft but if there is any sign of digestive discomfort in your history check it out.

Hi doublecee

I'm sorry to here that and I'm hoping I don't have emphysema I know it's up there when it comes to your lungs.

I'm Maori so My food digestion is more than good lol. But when I have it checked I'll post up what it is and hopefully help someone with a similar problem.

Thanks
