Please don't go ahead and buy a nebuliser before speaking to you GP because it would be your GP who would prescribe a bronchodilator or saline and so you would need to know he would do so.

With regard to nebulised antibiotics it would be your consultant who would need to arrange and approve this initially as you would need to be assessed with the drug at the hospital first.

Good luck

Hi.

I have been on azithromycin for a few years unfortunately I miss heard the Consultant and thought he said take one EVERY Day, I have only just discovered that I should have been taking three times a week.

Anyway I just wanted to say I have had no side effects and far fewer flare ups, I do have a lot of yoghurt sand have Lidl low fat yoghurt drink at least twice a day.

Hope this helps.

Azithromycin made me feel really sick after the first dose, but it was fine after that. Nebulisers are things to be treated with great respect, most medicines that go through them need to be tested on you under medical conditions before regular use. Some people react quite violently when neb'd and not all antibiotics will go through a neb. Plus you have to get your doctor to prescribe the ingredients (if that's the right word) they are not keen on giving them ad-lib. So do all the checks before thinking of buying one, and if you are lucky the hospital will lend you one that they will service
