I ended up in hosptail couple year ago.with phymoina.. coughing blood etc up. took a week and going gp.. I looked likke was dieing..

Any way week later 2 different drips with antibiotics.. then 2 week 2 more lots to bring home..was very I'll..any way my question is now I am very sore top my right lung..get a rotting taste in my mouth..had this over 2 year????? Doctors were baffled now I'll I was with it.and that I had it ?????advice folksx

Hi louiseamos have you been seen by a respiratory consultant? I had pneumonia badly some 20 yrs ago when i was in my late 20's it took me a good year to get back to normal and ever since everytime i get ill my left lung i get pain there. Its definitely worth asking for referral if not already just to have some tests to see whats going on. Best wishes Judith x

Thank you tigershay1... I've been doctors loads of times..like this back..joint pain..since my 20 so..been neglated..x thanks any way they just don't seem to care,,I am very tired all the time..it took me months to get over year or so.x

Hi, as tigershay mentioned, have you seen a consultant about your lung pain. I had double pneumonia 20years ago too, lost a lot of weight, and coughed up discoloured mucus for ages. I had a horrible rotting taste and bad breath, you could see people backing away! I have been treated for asthma ever since. The BLF helpline is open from 10am during the working week, they can give you advice if you ring them. Best of luck

Knitter..that's same has me ..to me was like a rotting taste..I was very very I'll.my grandma had died month before with phymiona..its scarey..over a week had two doctors out...first on said I had flu..in said no..funny flu feels worse..over a week 3 doctors..in till my eyes were sunk in back my head..looked like was dead.... I had silent phymiona.. still now get pain in chest were it started..was in both lungs...see think doctors don't care were I live..I've been loads times about it..thank you...frightening I was coughing blood up..loadsx

PS..its been over 2 years..doctors were really baffeled how is got it..that I'll..even tested for aids and cancer..was told that bad..up setting doctors never took me serious.. if it were a barbie..free to think..I think would knew simptons... xhad drips .in over a week..thing is went home..still had pain..awfully taste. DoctoR said didn't knew what that was?????

Hi its me again, you said that your grandma had pneumonia a month before you, I wonder if there was a link. I know when I had it I was treated for a blood clot and given injections in my stomach for that , no antibiotics, it was only later that I was diagnosed with pneumonia and I was really ill. The pains in my lungs were there for over a year, I was told it was a pulled muscle, then inflammation of the intercostal muscle, then I broke a rib coughing. But the pain was where the most congestion was in my lungs, and the taste and smell were awful. Are you coughing up any discoloured mucus?Please ring the helpline on Monday and ask their advice, and ask your gp if you can be referred to a consultant. Good luck.

Hi knitter.. knew few days has past now..been away in our caravan..when in hosptail..for few days they gave me injections in my tummy too..they also said had to have special scan?...that didn't happen....I was very I'll.?I never went near my granda.. for months before he died with it..sadly...doctors need to be better at their job..I honest have been loads about pain..taste etc..been 2 year now..taste nearly gone...don't cough...stopped smoking 8 month ago....scarey xx
