had a follow up appointment with my cardiologist who basically said the 24/7 severe chest pain I’m getting is not my heart and have no other advise or idea of what else the pain could be. What do I do now? I still think it’s to do with my heart as I Also get palpatations/ feel my heart skipping beats.

do I go to a different cardiologist?

As I see it you have three options, on the understanding that your cardiologist has discharged you stating your heart is is not responsible for your chest pain having completed all necessary tests

- You seek a second opinion. In the UK you are are entitled to ask for that under the NHS although it might not be granted, or you go the private medicine route if you can afford it (it will certainly cost £££ possibly ££££ if tests are involved)

- You go back to your GP to discuss what your options are assuming your cardiologist is correct in the diagnosis e.g your pain could be gastro related

- You tough it out to see what happens

Finally In your earlier post to the community about your situation one of the suggestions was to contact the BHF Heart Helpline nurse, so I suggest that you do this if you have not does so already, when you will be able to discuss this further

You haven't said what tests you've had done? If had all tests then need to get gp about other possible causes

You have every right to seek a second opinion if you wish. However, I am 1 year post op and had severe chest pain for the first 3 months and still have pain when coughing or sneezing. I also have AF despite having 2 cardioversion. But having just had my first annual check, ecg, scans etc my heart is good with no issues.

Not what you're looking for?
