Hi,
I had a pacemaker fitted in January for a 2nd Degree SA block Type 1 (Wenckebach) and Bradycardia. I'm loving life again and planning summer holidays. Any advice on who to get cover from?

Travel insurance for hearties comes up regularly on here, sometime several times in a week especially at this time of year. However since we are all different (age, sex, medical conditions, where we are going and for how long we require cover etc) just because someone on here had a good deal with Allclear or Staysure or Avanti or any of the other providers that get mentioned on here doesn't necessarily mean that you will. So you I suggest you do your own research to find out how the insurers view your personal circumstances, typically by using a comparison site which covers travel insurance with pre-existing medical conditions and fill in all the questions fully and honestly and take it from there, or talk to an insurance broker. Hope you can get fixed up.
Thank you for such a prompt reply, comparison sites I've tried always seem to end with a 'call us' - is there one that's worked for you?
Try below as a start point ...

And if it's any help my travel cover is linked to a Nationwide Flex Plus account for which I pay a monthly fee and then an additional premium on top of that to Aviva who provide the cover itself.
And I have used Puffin in the past since they came up OK for me.
I have annual cover with Churchill. When my issues started they wouldn’t cover me for any new trips until I had a diagnosis but when I had my pacemaker fitted I told them and now my cover has gone back to exactly what it was before with only a very small rise in premium - and this despite having made a claim last year for an unscheduled hospital stay abroad when everything started! Waiting for consultations/diagnosis is more problematic than the diagnosis itself, I think!
Someone on here suggested trying pumpingmarvellous.org/site which gave this link
Also heard Stature and Allclear ok my friend has CABG post 6 yrs and she says she uses Hastings insurance - she has an annual plan
I would like to add to this..as we know Insurance very regular question.I would like to know if anyone has made a claim successful or otherwise for Heart related condition?
Hi Alicant, I had an emergency pacemaker fitted on 12th March ( no previous symptoms) and should have been in New Orleans on 30th March. I have an annual policy with Avanti & awaiting response to my claim. My travelling companion had absolutely no problems with her claim as due to patient confidentiality she didn’t need any proof. I had letter from cardiologist & tick box page from GP (£30) plus cancellation forms from Travel firm. I’ll let you know results 🤞
I use goodtogoinsurance.com. It's all on line and I've not had to call them.
I should say I have an ICD and not a pace maker.
I was fitted with a dual chamber pm 8 years ago, I’m not on any meds and my insurance didn’t change at all. I’m with Avanti but only with them as they insure over 70s for skiing, you may get a better deal with another company, do a comparison search on maybe moneysavingexpert.
hi I've had a pacemaker fitted 5 mnths ago,
I rang all the top travel insurance companies
I've had OHS & AFIB the prices were outrageous, one said they would not insure me.
I did all the comparison sites, I've just taken a single trip cover with
PAYINGTOMUCH I'm covered for all my medical & heart problems. I did a quote on there website & couldn't believe the quote compared with orther companies. I rang them up operater explained everything in detail.
just have a look at there website & do a quote so easy no complex questions,
good luck.
