Hello everyone, I spoke with everyone here in 2023. I have possible takotsubo cardiomyopathy. After that, I greatly recovered from it. Thanks to comments and encouragement from kind people, I am here today. I sincerely appreciate your kindness. May everyone be restful and peaceful.

I enjoy mindfulness every day. Mindfulness helps me a lot.

it is good to hear that you are greatly recovered - i also had a Takotsubo episode 10 yrs ago and recovered well

in case you did not know and/or you ever have issues which you think might be connected to your Takotsubo there is a Takotsubo Support Group on Facebook which is very helpful

It is encouraging to hear you have recovered well. I would be interested to hear your experiences as I currently have a diagnosis of MINOCA but am waiting for a cardio MRI (it is six months away) to see if it might be Takotsubo or Myocarditis or a microvascular problem. Takotsubo, from what I have read, seems the most likely so I would be interested to hear what happened to you and what you did to help recovery. Many thanks.

Hello, thank you for your message. I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better soon.

Regarding my recovery journey, the most important thing is to rest and sleep well. I couldn't walk for a long time due to symptoms of takotsubo in the past. Also, having healthy meals and relaxing help me a lot. During the past year, mindfulness meditation practices make me feel relaxed physically and psychologically. Please try to cultivate self-compassion as you are doing the best you can every day. I wish you swift recovery and may your day/evening be peaceful.

Thank you for responding. It is just good to know that some people do make good recoveries. I am trying to look after myself but initially was concentrating on continuing my usual dog walks and hill walks but many on the site with experience of Takotsubo and Myocarditis seem to recommend lots of rest rather than exercise so I am now only going for gentle easy walks and resting more. It is hard when there is so much uncertainty and conflicting info even from professionals. No-one told me rest was important and I was given no info at all on discharge just a bag full of medications. I was also offered cardio rehab exercise class where I was told exercise/walking etc was fine and the best thing I could do, just slow down and rest if you get breathless. I want to give myself the best chance of getting better but it seems there is much less understanding of Takotsubo and Myocarditis among doctors and nurses than there is of standard heart attacks. Thank you again. One final question could you tell me what medications you were on and do you still take them and will you need them for life?

Hello, thank you for your reply. I am relieved to hear that you can walk or exercise on a daily basis. In my case, I had to stay at home due to shortness of breath and chest pain for six months. I felt energetic one year later. I believe that cardio rehab is a good option. Now I enjoy hiking on a regular basis. Please also talk to your healthcare providers.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is self-limiting, so I don't take medications for a heart condition at the moment, although my doctor prescribed acetaminophen and beta blockers just in case. I took them a few times. I ended up resting and sleeping well when I had symptoms of takotsubo. My doctors recommended rest and stress reduction after the onset of takotsubo. Even so, I take supplements such as omega 3 fatty acid, vitamins, etc. before and after the onset of that. Support from kind people has helped me a lot. I hope this helps. Thank you for letting me share these.

May your suffering be eased. I wish you worry-free days.

Many thanks. I keep being told that following severe heart failure I will need to take medications for the rest of my life which is really scary. I am hoping this may change when I finally have an MRI and they can confirm whether my heart failure was Takotsubo or Myocarditis. So good to know a good recovery is possible. I am lucky to have a supportive family and good friends. I am going to look after myself. Thank you again.
