low oxygen saturation

Hi

I had HA last year and subsequently have been put on a lot of medication. I have just recently been put on Furosemide 40mg as I had a lot of leg swelling. I have a fibit watch and I’ve noticed my oxygen saturation is a bit low and has now gone down to 91% , number 1 im not sure if these watches are accurate and number 2 could any of my meds like the furosemide be causing this? I’m also feeling really cold could any of this be connected? Sorry bit of a long shot before I think of contacting GP.

rather than contact the GP, why not talk to the pharmacist employed by your doctor’s group of surgeries? Assuming there’s nothing in the pack details to help.

A GP is a generalist - the pharmacist only does medications and should be on the ball, and can see your surgery notes too.

Failing that, your dispensing pharmacist

You are also correct that your Fitbit is not all that accurate. One of the finger clip-on ones will give you a more accurate reading.

hi. My Fitbit always records my oxygen at around 94% but my pulse oximeter says 98-99% during the day.. I think the Fitbit records overnight oxygen sats and then gives you an average. I use it as a very rough guide only. Pulse oximeters are cheap on Amazon but will only tell you your oxygen levels at the time of the reading. If you are concerned speak with your gp. I wish you well x

Thanks I’ve just ordered one think it would be a good idea to keep a check as when I had my HA my oxygen says went down to 90 and i needed oxygen.

We bought one during Covid, but it has already given up the ghost. 🤷‍♂️

91% is low but not that low. Also if taken with an oxometer it depends on the condition of your fingers, don’t trust wearables

If your BP was generally higher before starting on your new medication, then it is probable that it is the new med. As suggested, in previous replies, it is a good idea to speak to a pharmacist. Best wishes.
