Coming off bloodthinners

This is what I said earlier today to a similar post ....
No-one in here can answer that for you. It's a question to put to your cardiologist or GP who will have access to your medical records. However if you have had a heart related event such as a heart attack it seems common practice to prescribe two anti platelets such as aspirin and clopidogrel and then drop one after 12 months with the other taken indefinitely. So I take aspirin for life and dropped clopidogrel after 12 months. Others may be different according to clinical needs.
She's only asking what people think might or might not happen. No reason people can't give answers to that, I think. And people have. Harmless enough I would have thought...
There's is no reason why the question can't be asked. And people will respond. Just like I have. And so have you to my comment. But I believe questions like that of the OP are in general better served by talking to health professionals rather than asking for an opinion from community users, some of which which may not be relevant to the person asking the question, and may in some cases lead to a poor outcome (but not necessarily this one). But that's my opinion and you may believe otherwise. So if you have a view on what the OP has asked why not post it instead of commenting on what I have done which in my opinion would actually achieve what you believe the OP requires.
Dear eight wives
I love Clopidogrel. I have had a life plagued by migraines, but Clopi has stopped the migraines. I hope I can keep them for life.
They don’t seem to have any bad effects on me.
Best wishes

Hi, I’ve been on aspirin since I started having angina in 1999. I then had a bypass in 2001 and a stent on 2005 after which I took aspirin and clopidrogel for 12 months. I then stopped clopidrogel and have been on aspirin ever since, until I’m advised otherwise
Clopridigril is an anti platelet medication.
When they start you on the meds it's said to be" for the rest life of your life" from the outset! But my meds changed several times as things started to change in my heart condition. Some of them have been stopped, replaced with other meds etc. It's all down to individual responces and hence will vary from one person to the next, as the heart tries to recover/repair itself.
