he absolutely has to come off Clop before surgery. This is a blood thinner and you and he will have noticed that he bruises easily (so a little extra blood under the skin) and that if he injures himself, like on brambles, he will bleed a lot more than before the Clop.

surgery on his bladder will entail bleeding at the operation site, and he would bleed too much if he still took that medication.

I think he will be asked to come off aspirin too.

Have faith in your medical team.

Thankyou they havent asked him to come off asprin

In my opinion in situations like this I am afraid you just have to follow and trust on the direction given by the medical team under whose care you are under. They deal with cases on a daily basis and make clinical decisions based on experience, the medical records of the the person in front of them, and this includes a risk based assesment. They know far more about medical outcomes than any layperson, and tbh that's how it should be, But if you have any doubts they should be open to answering any questions.

I’m on Warfarin and always have a bridging plan to ween me off Warfarin every time I have a procedure and I have to inject myself with Heparin or suchlike and then gradually have to have Warfarin reinstated. I’ve had to do it a few times in the past and also start again next week as I have a spinal problem which needs attention. Ive never had any problems.
