Chronic Heart Failure

After several ha over the years, last one being Jan 2024, stents put in and went back 6 weeks later for another stent - horrendous time - they didn't use collagen plug but used fists in my groin.Discharged me 3 hrs later and then pain came, black and blue from hip to hip

I was in agony for a month, had to use a wheelchair.

Fast forward to Feb this year and finally got to see Cardio consult who has now referred me to CFA consult, have appt tomorrow and just don't know what to expect!

I admit if they offer exercises l will be reluctant, previous lung rehab blew my BP so much so bloodshot eyes

I have no energy, no strength, feel so lifeless

It doesn't help with also dealing with lung cancer, (check up MRI next week)

So my question is -

Is it my heart sapping my energy or just ageing

I am 70 , female on usual meds bisoprolol ramipril aspirin statins and quite recently eplerinone

so I think you are in a good place to discuss what’s needed in your own particular circumstances with a professional.

Make sure you write down your queries and if at all possible take someone with you who can ensure you ask all the questions and get as much answer as possible. In the stress of the moment it’s easy to forget a question or forget what the answer was.

Thank youHad my appt with HF specialist, so informative and helpful

I have not been getting proper follow ups, so she has actioned them, blood tests ECG etc

Cannot fathom why we are not told to stop common meds - ramipril - when we have flu, upset tummy etc

I am sorry that you are going through this, as someone with a chronic condition which affects my energy levels I know how crap you could be feeling

I suspect that it's your lung cancer which is sapping your energy as much as your current heart issue - cancer saps your body resources it uses the energy and fuel you need elsewhere to fuel it's own growth and your immune system is also using fuel and energy to control the cancer ' adding other issue which reduce your energy compounds the problem

A poorly functioning heart means that you may not be getting fuel and oxygen to where it is needed as quickly as it is needed - so effectively you have a large building site with an overworked labour force with a poor supply of raw materials - be gentle with yourself please🌺
