Following a cardiac arrest in 2010, I had my first ICD fitted and have stayed on a regime of Amiodarone.

I had a second ICD fitted in 2019, this one a bi-ventricular with pacemaking.

One shock in 2022 -after glitch with Amiodarone but otherwise stable.

Has anyone had problems with being refused admission to a private hospital because of their ICD?

I also wondered how many UK patients have an ICD?

Hi. They also told me since my heart failure EF % has dropped below 35% to 29% that it's now in talks to get one fitted. I get chest pains but that's really it. Heart beat and pressure seems so stable. Have they said how long it'll take to get one fitted?

I had a ICD fitted in 2019 for none sustained runs of VT including multi focal PVCs, I have just had a total knee replacement at a private hospital called Spire Hospital Roundhay at Leeds, they just put the ICD in safe mode until the op was completed
