Entresto

The cardiac nurse is considering putting me onto entresto. My breathlessness with heart failure is getting worse a more troublesome. I am at present on bisoprolol 1.25, candesartan 2mg, dapagliflozin 10mg and also spironolactone 12.5 and furosemide. I read the side effects of entresto sound pretty bad including dissinness. How have others using entresto found it? Are the side effects bad?I would appreciate your views. Thanks

I have been on Entresto for a few years, and my cardiologist has discharged me only a year after I was diagnosed with severe heart failure. If you can tolerate it, it is a wonder drug.

Hi Milopalm, I'm in the severe category for heart muscle failure with an EF of 25%, and I've been taking Entresto for a couple of years now. When initially starting Entresto it does make you feel a bit dizzy, but as RufusScamp says, it is a wonder drug so perhaps give it a try if your cardiac nurse has suggested this. Wishing you well.

I am on the lowest dose of Entresto and it is very good.EF improved a lot in 6 months.

I cannot take a higher dose as it drops my B P too much.

Give it a go!

You don't need to worry about the side effects as you will be monitored for these and your dose will be adjusted accordingly. The higher the dose you can tolerate, the more benefit you will receive. But if, for instance, it lowers your blood pressure too much , they will keep you on a lower dose. There are also blood tests which keep a look out for other unwanted effects. Good luck!

I’ve had no problems with Entresto. I worked up to the highest dose and it’s fine.

it works for me. Try to focus on the likely benefits rather than the side effects

Hi, ime on entrusted along with 3 other tablets. It was the Entresto that made me dizzy, so I take mine before bed, problem solved . My cardiologist thought that was a good idea.Hope it helps you.

I was taken off Ramipril and put on Entresto 24/26 and have never looked back.

The dizziness it causes is easily managed, just be careful and slow when getting up to a standing position. My EF increased from 30% to 45% to eventually 60% in two years. Entresto has certainly worked miracles for me.

I'm on Entresto with no side effects.

I started on a low dose and was closely monitored as doses increased.

I am on Entresto being gradually moved up to the higher dose .Started twice a day on lowest dose then moved up to lowest dose in the morning and medium dose at night ,just started medium dose twice a day .I have no problems ,also take Apixaban and digoxin .was took off bisoprolol because that me dizzy ,unreasonably tired and doc thought they interfered with my copd meds had 2 exacerbations in 6 weeks .Give it time for you body to get used to it ,read reviews off people that take it and good luck it seems like the rolls Royce of heart meds to me .
