Afib with pins and needles in right arm!

Hello all, I've been persistent since October and on the waiting list for an Ablation. Medication tweaked and now on Atenolol and Digoxin since mid December which is controlling HR, resting normally around 80 bpm. For the past couple of months I've been suffering regular bouts of pins and needles along whole right arm. I'd say the bouts are becoming more regular, around a dozen if not more events a day that come and go after a few minutes, they are quite intense!

Has anyone any experience of this? Is it a side effect if Medication, a symptom of Afib or something else that I should be worried about?

Thank you.

we can’t diagnose here, but I can say that I had something similar back in my thirties which was sorted out by an osteopath. When I get similar now I see a physio.

So it could just be a compression on your upper spine. Or indeed something else!

thank you for the reply. Around 18 months ago I saw a chiropractor for a trapped nerve in my right shoulder. That appeared to fully heal as in fully mobile to swing a golf club. This pins and needles feels different and I'm hoping its not Afib related and more like a medication side effect

Hi Eric, I cant say as I had pins and needles with the atenalol, however I have just , well 2 months ago gone from atenalol to lercanidipine and 1 month after starting them I got pins and needles in both hands and in my feet. My doctor wasn't concerned about the change of meds but has said I now have neuropathy..

Which I didn't expect .

I hope you get it sorted it may be some thing simple , fingers crossed you get sorted.

Good Luck

Hi Eric I have been using digoxin and carvedilol for 8 yrs. My heart rate like yours has been well controlled.I am 70 yrs old now. I have never had pins and needles feeling ever. My digoxin level is around .8 to 1.2 . I also take xeralto(20 mg) daily and entresto 24/26 mg. two times per day. None of these medications have caused me pins and needles. I have AFib but never feel it. I hope you ablation goes great and you find the source of you pins and needles!!! You have a long great life ahead for you! Stay Strong!!!

Thank you for your reply and nice comments. That's reassuring re medication. From replies to date I'm getting the impression the pins and needles aren't medication related however I'm thinking possibly regular irregular heartbeats due to Afib. Who knows!?
